Thank You. Thank You Very Much...
Today, President Bush took the prime minister of Japan on a guided tour through Graceland. At first, I thought this was a total waste of time - do our world leaders have nothing better to do than walk around looking at 30 year old jumpsuits and sequined sunglasses? Then, to watch Bush and the prime minister having such a good time (the prime minister is a big fan, BTW), it just showed two friends bonding over something that was a bit more lighthearted than anti-nucleur proliferation. Then, it really struck me that, well, frankly, I don't really care how two people bond, provided they ARE strengthening their friendship. Elvis or chess or at an 80s hair rock concert - what does it really matter? The better the relationships between two world leaders, the better the relationships between their respective countrymen.
